The equipment

On this page we'd like to introduce our two studios and parts of the equipment. We hope you don't mind if we stick to the basics and don't explain every single device. For more details about the equipment please visit us personally or try the Complete list link.

studio 1

Here we have a very bright and air conditioned studio with the latest equipment waiting for you. It has the best equipment for analog as well as digital music productions. Talking about 60m² recording room and 40m² directing room, there is plenty of space even for larger bands.

• Pro Tools|HD and Power Mac G4
  There is not much we could tell the experts amongst you about this, highest digital audio quality through Digidesign converters as well as countless high quality plug-ins - for productions at the high end level.
  
  
• Soundcraft Ghost 32
  Our 32 channel mixing-console is an analogue system and brings back happy memories of the «good old days». Especially if you are going for really «phat» and high quality recordings we like to combine it with the advantages of the Pro Tools|HD.
  
  
• Telefunken M15A 2" 24-Track tape-machine
  This tape-machine facilitates highest sound quality for analog recordings. For quality reasons we work with a tape-speed of 30 Ips.
  
  
• Lexicon 480 L Digital, Lexicon 300, Eventide H3000 Ultra Harmonizer, AMS RMX 16 Digital, Klark Teknik DN 500, TC M3000, MindPrint En-Voice amplifier valve
  These effect processors are used to edit and defamiliarize audio signals, e.g. echo effects or delay.
  
  
• EAA Square 1000MK II + Westlake BBSM12 and Yamaha NS10M
  These speakers enable you to fill the hall with sound, if they are too powerful you might be too weak. ;-)
  
  

On top of all that you're able to use the following instruments for your recordings:

• Piano
• Drumset Pearl
• Leslie-Cabinet
• Neumann mics U87A, M147, and others
• Diverse
  Several guitar and bass amplifiers, Ensonic ASR10 Sampler and much more.

studio 2

Our second studio consists of a decent size radio room and a directing room. We use it mostly for spoken word recordings, e.g. radio spot productions. After editing the material «the done spots« are sent directly to various radio stations by using a regular internet connection or ISDN. Therefore we use the «Fritz!Card» or a «MusicTAXI» which is shortly explained with the other equipment below.

• Yamaha 01V mixing-console
  includes lots of sound-effects, like echo and dynamics.
  
  
• Samplitude 2496 6.0 Harddisk Recording System
  makes mixing, editing and mastering a task of countless choices. Besides this we use it to produce red-book compatible CDRs which copying companies use as an original-master.
  
  
• MusicTAXI VP Pro
  Creates an audio connection with other studios. It kind of works like a phone call, except the sound quality is much higher and the transfer is in stereo, too. It enables us to record somebody far away for a production at our studio or we can use it to send spots to radio stations.
